SWISS GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Academic year 2012/13
The Swiss government through the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) grants a number of scholarships for developing countries, including Indonesia, including. This scholarship is offered to Indonesian POSTGRADUATE students want to do research or study at the master's program in a Swiss university or Federal Institute of Technology. Priority will be given to research scholarships.
The following programs are not included in this scholarship:
Both art and music
Undergraduate studies
Study hotel management
Student exchange programs
Part-time studies
On-the-job study
Correspondence courses
The duration of the grant is basically for the nine-month academic year (always from September to June. It is not possible to start the Spring semester scholarships or any other time in years). This can be extended up to 12 months. Extension request will be analyzed in accordance with the criteria FCS.
Condition
Citizen of Indonesia
University degree (min. Bachelor Strata-1/bachelor)
Candidates must be under 35 years old when applying (birth date after December 31, 1976)
Sufficient knowledge of language instruction programs that are intended (German / French / Italian and / or English). Applicants for the master's program must have a recognized international language certificates
Applicants for the fellowship research must have a letter of confirmation from a professor at the university in question.
For research fellowships: Applicants must have a clear research proposal. For the master's program: applicants must have a motivation that explains the purpose and importance of research for future careers. In addition the applicant must apply to the selected master's programs while applying for the Swiss Government Scholarship.
Please note that applicants with the following conditions can not be considered:
Applicant has applied for two or more universities in Switzerland (eg ETHZ & EPFL)
Petitioner has attended the first year Master's program at a university in Switzerland
The applicant is required to follow a complementary program to catch up ECTS credits in order to meet the requirements of the University.
Application Procedure
Scholarship application forms must be requested until November 18, 2011. To obtain a form, applicants should send a brief e-mail that includes the data and the following documents:
The full name
Date of birth
In addition to English language skills (in case you can speak one official language in Switzerland)
Intended research / field studies and university in Switzerland
a. For research fellowships:
complete the research proposal (approximately 5 pages), including an overview of the research work carried out until now that could be relevant to the scholarship.
copy of confirmation from a professor at universities in Switzerland meant that he / she will oversee the research
b. For the master program:
two-page personal statement emphasizing the reasons for studying in Switzerland, the importance of choice for your future career and your professional projects after the scholarship.
internationally recognized language certificate (depending on language teaching) with at least the minimum value

Applicants must return the application form and supporting documents no later than November 30, 2011, to: Embassy of Switzerland (Culture Section), Jl. H. R. Rasuna Said Kav. X3 / 2, Jakarta 12950. Application documents can be sent by post or courier.
All documents must be submitted in three sets of copies. Each set of documents should be prepared in the following order:
Application form (typed and printed)
A copy of the certificate of bachelor or master's degree from university
Translation graduate certificate or master's degree
Academic transcripts
Translation of academic transcripts
Letter of recommendation from 2 professors / lecturers
For research fellowships: a research proposal (approximately 5 pages). For the master's program: Letter of motivation (2 pages)
Curriculum vitae
For research fellowships: a confirmation letter from a professor from the university in Switzerland is intended. For the master's program: an internationally recognized language certificates
Medical certificate (on a form provided by the Embassy FCS)
Copy of passport (main pages with personal data)
Other documents (language certificates, certificates of achievement, etc.)
Copy of certificate must be certified as true copies. Documents (certificates, recommendations, etc.) are not issued in English / German / French / Italian must be translated into one language and legalized. Translation must be attached to the related documents.
All documents must be on A4 size paper and not put in a binder. Please note that only complete and orderly prepared application files will be considered. Only selected applicants will be invited for interview will be held at the Swiss Embassy in Jakarta. In May 2012, the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) will announce the nominations received.
Number of Scholarships
CHF 1.920, -/month (for cost of living)
Please note that not all master degree programs and university scholarship recipients exempt from the semester fee. Scholarship grant covers only living expenses in Switzerland. It is therefore necessary that all applicants to clarify the possibility of tuition fee waiver directly with the university.
Travel Expenses and Insurance
Recipients from Indonesia pay their own travel expenses to Switzerland, but the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) pays a return ticket (except for family members). The return trip will not be offered if the recipient prolong their stay in Switzerland over six months after completing their studies, or if they take jobs or move to a third country.
Health insurance (except for dental care) and accident insurance will be provided.
Obligations as Holder Scholarship
Scholarship holders must live in Switzerland at the place of study and must comply with the law on residence of foreigners in Switzerland and university regulations.
FCS does not have the authority to decide the possibility of bringing family scholarship holder to Switzerland. It is submitted to the Federal Migration Office, which at the time of bidding with a very limited demand. As a rule, family members can not be brought into Switzerland during the first year of study.
When receiving the scholarship, candidates must provide a written agreement to return to Indonesia after completing a fellowship in Switzerland.
Scholarships of the FCS can not be combined with other grants. If the benefits of the other scholarship recipients scholarships or other financial means (salary), he must choose between scholarship FCS and other revenue sources.
