European Masters in Policy Analysis of Agricultural, Food and Environment (AFEPA) aims to provide high quality education in designing and assessing public policies targeted to agriculture and food sector and rural environments. This European Master respond to the increasing need to better understand and anticipate the impact of socio-economic and environmental and often complex policies both in the market economy that functions like the European Union or in countries in development or transition phase. European Master offers two-year academic curriculum with a course of theoretical, methodological and empirical integrated and advanced in the field of economics and quantitative methods as well as in agriculture, food and environmental sciences, agricultural and trade policies, the policy environment and natural resources, rural development policy and agribusiness management and market analysis. To connect theory and methodology for the practice, a problem-solving project was developed and is presented as a master thesis at the end of a two-year curriculum.

European Masters organized by the five leading educational and research institutions of Europe: Budapest University Corvinius (Cub) in Hungarian, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Sweden, Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (UBonn) in Germany, Université catholique de Louvain (UCL ) in Belgium and the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Spain. The five partner universities are recognized worldwide for quality educational programs and scientific achievements in agriculture, environmental science and economics. The 120 ECTS credit points required structured into three blocks: a minimum of two semesters of study (55 ECTS) at the university's first partner, and two semesters of study (60 ECTS) at both partner universities, and two summers with the school (5 ECTS) at the partner universities . The language of instruction is English and checks for most programs at the three partner universities in the meantime either French or Spanish at UCL in the UPC for most programs. Masters level is given as a double degree from home two and the host university.

This European Master is accessed candidates hold a bachelor's degree or a recognized equivalent academic degree with a minimum of 180 ECTS or 3 years of study at the university from an accredited institution, with adequate undergraduate training in economics and agricultural science or the environment, with very good average scholastic, and with fluency in English but also French or Spanish if attending either the UCL or UPC respectively.

Recipients of this European Masters qualified to understand the basics of public policies oriented to agriculture and food sector, rural areas and natural resources, develop and use quantitative methods to assess the socio-economic and environmental strictly from public policies, and provide sound and relevant policy recommendations for more sustainable development of the sector and rural areas. They are qualified to take on the responsibility of international institutions, national and regional non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, professional organizations and private companies.

Tuiton cost
European Consortium AFEPA student fees and non-European students a flat tuition and general fees 3000 Euros and 6,000 Euros per year each to cover the cost of selection, enrollment, tuition at the university, summer school, of course exams, thesis examination, language support local, library access, insurance, and administrative expenses for a period of four semesters. Flat rate is the same whatever the schedule of the student teacher. Erasmus Mundus scholarships for European students (Category B)

Alternative student scholarships

Belgian Technical Cooperation (BTC) to manage funds for education and training in Belgium, which is funded in the context of government-to-government cooperation agreement. This is known as direct bilateral cooperation. Approximately 120 grants awarded each year. Priority will be given for study or training in one of the areas focused by the Belgian cooperation. Belgian Technical Corporation works closely with the following partner countries: Algeria, Benin, Bolivia, Burundi, Congo, Ecuador, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Palestinian territories, Peru, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Vietnam . It is highly recommended that you apply for this grant program as soon as you are accepted into the program to expand the sources AFEPA your potential for a grant.

Sweden (Swedish Academy of Agricultural Sciences):

Scholarships for undergraduates
AFEPA program also provides scholarships for visiting scholars. Scholars have come for a minimum of three weeks and a maximum of three months and actively participate in program related activities.

Insurance
Students who hold the Erasmus Mundus scholarship or have paid their tuition benefits from health insurance coverage for the entire period of two years Master's program AFEPA.

Information on Applications
For the 2012/13 academic year: the online application tool for both students of non-Europeans and Europeans will be reactivated from September 15, 2011 to January 10, 2012.
