This scholarship has been established by the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies to enable graduates to continue studies beneficial to the Muslim world.
Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies is a Recognised Independent Centre of the University of Oxford. It was established in 1985 to encourage scientific research of Islam and the Islamic world. The Centre provides a meeting point for the Western and Islamic learning. At Oxford it contributes to the multi-disciplinary research and cross-discipline of the Islamic world. Beyond Oxford, its role is reinforced by an international network of academic contacts.
Am I eligible?
Candidates must apply to start a new degree program at Oxford.
Make sure you meet the requirements for admission to the program of study, including English language requirements.

You should be able to show how your intended course of study is the relevance to the Muslim world. UK students should also be Muslim.
This scholarship is open to candidates studying for all degree programs pads, with the exception of programs PgCert and PgDip.
What is included?
100% of the universities and colleges, and grants for living expenses (the level in 2011-12 is £ 12.300).
Awards are made for the full duration of the responsibility of the student fee for the course agreed. If you are offered a scholarship for a course lasting more than one year, the continuation of your scholarship each year subject to annual renewal process based on satisfactory academic progress. Scholars will be expected to write an annual report on academic and social activities and achievements at the university.
How do I register?
Apply at the same time you apply to Oxford by selecting Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Scholarship (OCISS) in Section Funding Application Form Graduate University. Candidates must apply by Application Deadline 2 (January 6, 2012 for Medical Sciences and Philosophy; January 20, 2012 for all other subjects).
In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must submit your application for graduate studies with a time limit in January (January 20, 2012) and you should have secured a place in the chosen program of study with the expected date of final decision (March 16, 2012). Applications with extraordinary admissions decisions after this date, or the application is evaluated again to the plane of the deadline in March, are not eligible for scholarship consideration.
You must also complete the Scholarship Supporting Statement and uploaded along with your Postgraduate Application Form by the deadline for application so your application will be completed.
If you do not apply in full by the deadline, you will not be considered for a scholarship, even if you have selected the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studeis Scholarship (OCISS) on the Graduate Application Form.
How do I know if I've succeeded?
Successful candidates will be notified via email in the summer of 2012. This web page will be updated to show when all decisions have been made. If you have not heard from us at a moments notice is posted, then your application for this scheme has been successful. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we can not contact unsuccessful applicants individually or provide feedback on the application.
