KGSP Graduate Scholarships, Sogang University, Korea

Screening and selection (Sogang University): April 23 ~ 25

Application Requirements

The applicant holds a foreign citizenship and both parents are also foreign nationals (not mandatory Koreans)
Holders of dual nationality with Korean citizenship will not be considered as foreigners.
Applicants must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to stay in Korea for a long period of time.
Must be under 40 years old on September 1, 2012
Hold a Bachelor or Master degree on August 31, 2012
Applicants who enroll or already enrolled in the same academic program in Korea as one which they are applying will not be accepted.
For the Master's program (or Integrated Master's & Doctoral Program): students who hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma or higher degree
For Doctoral program: students holding a Master's degree or equivalent diploma or higher than a Master's degree.
Applicants who expect adequate diplomas must provide their diploma by August 31, 2012 before entering.
Must have an average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, grades / marks / score 80% or higher of the institution previously attended
If the class is difficult to convert to a percentage, the official explanatory documents from the university attended is required.

Application Procedure

Candidates will be determined by evaluation of total self-introduction, study plan, Recommendation letters, etc. Language proficiency test scores of all documents filed.
If there is going to exceed the number of applicants who can recommend Sogang University, Sogang University will decide the final candidates by university procedures (ex, KGSP committee's recommendation, etc.).
When the ability of applicants assessed as 'not enough' for the study, they will not be selected without regard to the admission quota.

Consideration of applicant

Multiple recommendations by more than one organization can not be accepted. Applicants can get only one recommendation of the Embassy, ​​the University and adoption organization.
Documents submitted will not be returned to candidates.
Incomplete or incorrect documents subject to rejection by NIIED. (Even after the entry into Korea)
In terms of delivery documents must be copied, applicants must obtain confirmation from the organization recommends.
Applicants who do not hold a diploma or certificate may submit a letter of expected graduation.
Applicants must be accurately filled out a health check on the truth. All successful applicants must take a medical examination in Korea (including HIV and TBPE drug test) in accordance with the requirements of the Korean Immigration and KGSP program. If the results show that the applicant is unfit to be a student KGSP, all the expenses for departure to their own country will be borne by the applicant KGSP.
Applicants may submit one or two copies of published papers, if available.
The applicant may submit a copy of the award after confirmation from the organization recommending, if available. Applicants must submit all documents by order of the check list.
Applicants who are studying in Korea or Korea graduated from university must submit a letter of recommendation from the heads of relevant departments of the university.
Applicants can not apply for Master's and PhD integrated course.
Students are not allowed to transfer schools during the entire period of the program so he / she go to school.
Once selected as a student KGSP by NIIED, he / she will take Korean language courses are designated by NIIED and acceptance procedures designated by the Sogang University for graduate school.
