Student Exchange Scholarships, La Trobe University, Australia


La Trobe University to welcome about 400 exchange students and study abroad from around the world each year.

If your institution is registered in the list of our international partners exchange you may be eligible to apply to study at La Trobe as an exchange student. If not, you can still get the experience of La Trobe by applying to us as Students Study Abroad.

Can I study at La Trobe as an exchange student?
Exchange student must be officially nominated by their home institution to study at La Trobe under a student exchange agreement. Your home institution may provide you with information about their nomination process.

What can I study?
Our programs are diverse and nationally known for their quality, both in teaching and research across our five faculties:

Hygiene
Humanities and Social Sciences
Business, Law and Economics
Science, Technology and Engineering

How do I register?
Before you apply, make sure that you have read the information about the prerequisites and requirements of the English language.

Check your Home Institution Exchange / Study Abroad Coordinator has informed La Trobe Abroad your nomination.

Complete the online application (Student Portal)

An Online Application Guide is available from your Home Institution Exchange / Study Abroad Coordinator

Register for a User Name and password
Submit your online application
Upload ALL the following documents:
2 References: (1) Academic (1) Personal
Personal Statement: a page about why you want to study in Bursa at La Trobe University.
Official academic transcript from your home university
For Students from non-English speaking countries: The evidence meets the requirements of English at La Trobe Language

* Applications that are incomplete, including missing documents in the application will NOT be processed

All applications must be sent to us before the following dates:

For Semester 1 (February-June): October 15 (previous year)
For Semester 2 (July-November): March 31 (same year)

Your home institution will submit your application to:
La Trobe Abroad, La Trobe International, La Trobe University, Bundoora, VIC 3086, Australia

Application approval
Your application will be sent to the department / s of your choice for approval. It may take a few so please be patient.

Accepted the offer
Depending on the success of your application, you will receive a Letter of Offer from a company or a Letter of Offer with conditions. This condition may be that you are prompted to select another unit or units are required to complete English on arrival to La Trobe.

Accept your offer
When the bidding has been completed and approved by the Faculty of La Trobe, you'll be sent a form acceptance of the offer including information on Overseas Student Health Cover. All forms must be completed and returned to La Trobe University. You will then issue an electronic confirmation of enrollment and you can apply for a student visa.

Once you accept your offer, we will send My Life at La Trobe guide that provides valuable information about our free airport reception service, accommodations and more. This guide is also available online

Calendar
General orientation of the date of the semester and can be found in our Academic Calendar.

We suggest you arrive in time for the Festival Welcome to our (orientation) for international students. This program contains important information sessions, including registration assistance, and also an excellent opportunity for you to meet other students and staff.

La Trobe organizes social events in addition to the exchange and study abroad students include a pre-camp orientation which occurred during the weekend before the Festival Welcome. Information on pre-orientation camp were sent to students who are enrolled.

Cost
Exchange students do not pay fees to the La Trobe but need to cover the additional costs themselves. Cost estimates can be found in My Life at La Trobe Guide.

La Trobe offers a limited number of scholarships for incoming students. Students who qualify will be contacted by La Trobe Abroad team.
