Overseas Student Scholarship Fund is open to students who live outside the European Union and European Free Trade Area, which is responsible for paying tuition fees abroad and who the University of Abertay Dundee University believe will lead to additional personal and academic qualities. These funds will support individual scholarships based on academic achievement, and / or personal achievements both in sports or music. They will be available for students applying to study at Abertay in September 2012.

The value of each scholarship award will be directly related to the quality of the individual applicant's academic ability and / or personal achievements in sports or music.

Value of awards to individuals because it may be different, but will not exceed the value of tuition fees, and subject to the Scholarship Fund of the remaining amount when the application is being considered.

Deadline for Applications
The University has set a January 31, 2012 as the deadline for applications for first round of awards. Two further rounds of applications for the academic year 2012/13 will be invited with a deadline of April 30 and July 31, 2012.

Students who register for one or more full years of study at the University of Abertay Dundee, both at the undergraduate or graduate, will be eligible to apply for scholarships.

Students are given a place at the University of Abertay Dundee full-time degree program and was awarded a scholarship will benefit from the scholarship fund each year, to four years depending on the length of their course1. For taught postgraduate degrees, successful applicants will enjoy the scholarship for their study period (usually between 12 and 18 months).

Academic Merit Scholarships will be available to those who have outstanding academic achievement, based on proven academic record in school and / or college and / or university at the point of application.

Personal Achievement Scholarships will be available to those applicants whose personal accomplishments in sports or music show commitment and determination to excel in other aspects of life.

Private Scholarships are not being presented as a Sport or Music Scholarships in the conventional sense. However they are designed to reward those who can demonstrate their achievements to date in selecting their field of music or sports. The University of Abertay Dundee has a strong record of achievement of individuals and institutions in both regions. It has run a very successful Elite Athletes program for many years, supporting individual sports men and women who compete in national or international level, and who also represented the University in their sport. Among the alumni of Abertay's sports are: female tae kwon do world champion, European champion amateur golf, and international competitors to Scotland or England in rugby, judo, athletics, figure-skating, hockey, gymnastics, soccer, and waterpolo. In music, Abertay is one of the few universities in the UK to have its own pipe band, associated with a traditional music club growing University.

Among the sports scholarships will be: 11 cricketing Excellence Scholarship, Scholarship Golf Handicap 8, 11 Football Scholarship, 15 Rugby Union Scholarship, 5 Star Basketball Player Scholarship. Other sports scholarships are available for Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton, Ladies Netball, Boxing, and Snow Sports.

Applicants will be asked to justify their application through, for example, membership of their relevant sports team or a national or regional real excellence at club level.

Among the music scholarships available are: 2 Solo Piano Performance Scholarship, Scholarship Ensemble Piano 2, 4 Keyboard Scholarship Digital Performance, 2 Solo Guitar Performance Scholarship, 2 Guitar Ensemble Performance Scholarship and a scholarship to all part of the performance of the orchestra, as well as traditional musical instruments (non -west) and the traditional western instruments (eg Fiddle, bagpipes). Applicants are expected to demonstrate their achievement through performance skills certified in their chosen form of music.

Requirements: You can only apply for a scholarship if you have filed an application for a place in a degree or postgraduate program at Abertay.

The level of music / sports achievements required
We would hope that you will be able to submit proof of having reached the advanced level by a recognized body in the world of music or sports.

Music: Evidence of successful examination performance (ie Associated Examination Board or equivalent) and / or the option to play in an orchestra of national or regional or other group of successful music.

Sports: Evidence of selection for regional or national team or a recognized qualification from approved sporting body / association. Applicants for the course must submit proof of their disability.

Scholarship Offers
Scholarships will only be paid if you managed to meet the requirements of the offer is made and will be deducted from the overall cost of debt. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have sufficient funds to cover the remaining costs.

Delaying Login
It is not possible to defer a scholarship to start in one academic year. You will need to reapply.

Some scholarships
You can apply any or all of sports, academic achievement or appreciation of music but would not be possible to qualify for more than one scholarship us or other cost reductions.

This should be a short letter on headed paper from your School, College, University, or the relevant Music / Sports Institute which states as follows:

Application submission
Applications for scholarships must be completed in full and all necessary documents must be submitted with the completed scholarship application form. If you do not provide all the information and documentation requested, your application will not be considered.

Scholarship deadline
Scholarship Committee will meet on three occasions and the relevant deadlines are:

January 31, 2012
30 April 2012
July 31, 2012

Applicants will be notified whether they have been successful within 4 weeks of the relevant closing date.

Terms and Conditions

Candidates must complete the relevant application form (if necessary) and provide supporting documentation with the relevant deadline for the award. We regret that the application and associated documentation received after the deadline can not be considered.
This award is only available for qualified candidates for full-time pay college tuition abroad.
Applicants must be available to take their place in the field in September 2012. Overseas scholarship award can not be deferred. Applicants who can not start the study at that time must re-apply for future consideration under the arrangement of Foreign Scholarships.
After the award has been made, applicants must confirm their acceptance within two weeks of scholarship notification. Failure to do so will result in the award is withdrawn and offered to another applicant.
Scholarships are awarded as a tuition reduction of total debt, it is not a cash award.
Scholarships can not be used as a method of paying University tuition prepayment requirement.
Students Sponsor (defined as a government / corporate) are eligible to apply. As a scholarship discount of tuition paid as a whole, which thus cost reduction for the official sponsor.
Applicants can apply for some scholarships, but students can only be given a University of Abertay Dundee Scholarship applicants are not able to receive several awards.
Students come through one of our partner institutions can make an application to be considered for scholarships, but can only receive either a discount or scholarship partner.
Scholarship is a fixed value, did not increase with inflation and is given for the full length of course but not paid for years of repeat study.
All students are awarded scholarships agreed to allow the Student Recruitment office to share data with other departments / services within the University.
University reserves the right to use information collected from students who are awarded scholarships in our promotional activities, such as by displaying profiles / stories / details of the award holder in the University student recruitment activities, however, we will not provide your personal information without your permission, through a request from our .
University decisions on eligibility and equivalence of your qualifications is final.

University reserves the right to change, discontinue or withdraw Overseas Scholarship scheme at any time without prior notice.
