The Hard Rock Cafe / Hollywood High Scholarship, generously sponsored by The Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood, will be awarded to a Hollywood High School senior graduating in 2013 who demonstrates excellence in musicianship and performance skills (in any genre) and will be enrolling in any Associate of Arts Performance program or Bachelors Performance program at Musicians Institute in Fall 2013.
The scholarship is applicable for students enrolled in the AA or Bachelor Degree performance program only (vocal, guitar, bass, drums, keyboard), and may not be transferred to “non-performance program” emphases (Audio Engineering, Music Business, Independent Artist, Guitar Craft, or Film) within any degree.
Award
$5,000.00 tuition credit ($2,500.00 for the first two quarters of the program as long as the recipient maintains satisfactory progress). Awardee must maintain enrollment at 12 units (fulltime status) during the full length of award period. Failure to maintain enrollment and satisfactory academic progress in AA or Bachelors program for the full duration of the scholarship may result in withdrawal of the award.
Eligibility and Conditions
Newly enrolled AA or Bachelors performance program students only. Must be a Hollywood High School senior, graduating in 2013. Open to US citizen and non-US citizens. MI enrollment application fee waiver of $100 will be applied to all scholarship applicants.
How To Apply
To be considered for The Hard Rock Cafe/Hollywood High Scholarship, you must take the following steps:
Complete a Hard Rock Cafe/Hollywood High Scholarship application.
VIDEO RECORDING
Submit a video recording (DVD format only) of you performing three (3) songs in any style. It is recommended that this include two (2) live ensemble (band or duo) performances, and one (1) solo (a capella) performance.
Application Deadline
For programs beginning: Fall 2013
Submit application by: August 23, 2013
Incomplete or late packages will not be accepted or returned. Scholarship awards are non-transferable.
All materials must be submitted in a complete package and mailed via US Postal Service to:
