One of the points of priority funding Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) of special significance in the Framework Programme on "Research for Sustainable Development Sustainable Water Management (NaWaM):" One of the major challenges in the future is to ensure clean water supply for the world's population . In view of this background, the BMBF is promoting special projects to develop, adapt and disseminate international technologies and strategies for sustainable management of the "Water" resource. Of particular interest in this context is the thematic areas of Water and Energy, Water and Health, Water and Nutrition, Water and Environment, and Water in Urban Areas. At the center of the Special Programme DAAD funded with resources from the BMBF on "Sustainable Water Management" located on the promotion of young scientists from Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Iran, Jordan, Vietnam and Indonesia.
Part program on "Study and Research Grant Scholarships for Foreigners" offers high-quality students and Doctoral Students from the above mentioned countries the opportunity to study in special programs relevant to the selected master spoken English-German university, or, to carry out their PhD projects in the thematic area "Water in Urban Areas" in Germany. According to an estimate published by the United Nations, more than 60% of the world's population - equivalent to nearly 6 billion people - will have settled in urban areas in 2030. At present, most of which already live in areas with inadequate infrastructure. In view of these developments, a new approach to the provision of urban and disposal and the protection of natural resources as needed.
Who can apply?
In principle, the application is open to special high-quality graduate and Doctoral Students from the above mentioned countries have graduated from their studies in Engineering or Natural Sciences subjects.

Please choose the appropriate degree program that meets your expectations and show the program and alternative programs in your application documents.
Support all structured to run for a minimum period of 31 months. Funding is provided for the course of four months of intensive language compulsory, generally two-year Master's program, and, shall be at least three months, Internship in a company engaged in commercial business and industry, in particular the authority of the Federation and the Federal state, and in the management and resource settings the company under public law, or in research institutions in Germany. Scholarships / grants consist of 750 monthly installments of Euro per month and an annual study and research subsidy cost of 460 Euros.
To travel out and back as well as field work may be in the country of origin, countries that depend on travel allowance is given. In addition, the DAAD covers the cost of health insurance as well as for accident and personal liability insurance.
In certain circumstances, additional costs for accompanying spouse and children can also be given. Possible costs of education borne by the DAAD.
Scholarship Type B: Doctorate in Germany
Applicants who wish to do the intended doctoral degree at a university in Germany.
Choice Host University and Scientific Oversight lies with the applicants themselves.
Support all structured to run for a minimum period of 43 months. Funding is provided for a four-month language course required intensive, generally three years of doctoral / PhD and at least three months compulsory internship in a company engaged in commercial business and industry, in particular the authority of the Federation and the Federal state, and in the management and regulation of resources within the company in under public law, or in research institutions in Germany. This support includes a monthly payment of 1000 Euros and Studies and Research Subsidy annual fee of 460 Euros. To travel out and back as well as for field work in countries of origin, which depends on travel allowances given. In addition, the DAAD covers the cost for health insurance as well as for accident and personal liability insurance. Perhaps, additional costs can also be paid to accompany spouse and children. Host institution in Germany to receive a monthly surcharge Research Cost of 200 Euros per scholarship / grant.
Selection
Choice scholarship / grant holders are made by the Selection Committee which German scientists sitting.
Selection criteria for determining student achievement that is generated during the study in the country of origin, the quality of undergraduate theses and English language skills and abilities.
Specify selection criteria for Doctoral Students / PhD is the quality of Master's thesis, relevance and quality of doctoral programs, academic achievement / proficiency in the Master's degree program in the country of origin and English language skills. Overseas experience and knowledge of other foreign languages can be of significance for both types of support (Type A and Type B).
