University of Sydney takes great pleasure in announcing the Sydney International Scholarships for international students who started at the University in 2012.

This scholarship aims to attract prestigious high-achieving, academically meritorious international students to enjoy the 'experience of Sydney in one of the best higher education institutions in the world.

Details as follows:

SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP achievement (UNDERGRADUATE)
Benefit
30 scholarships of AUD $ 10,000 per year, available for a maximum of three years, (total value of AUD $ 30,000) for undergraduate programs offered at the University of Sydney (subject to the recipient maintains satisfactory academic progress each year).

No living allowance is paid.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have completed Australian Year 12 qualification or senior international secondary qualifications are accepted by the University with the Australian Tertiary Admission rating (Atar) of at least 98 * or equivalent.

Students who have started tertiary studies, or transfer students with the exception of credit and / or advanced standing are not eligible. Students completing the Foundation Studies Program is also not eligible.

SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP achievement (POSTGRADUATE)
Benefit
30 scholarships of AUD $ 10,000, available as one-off award (total value of AUD $ 10,000) for courses Postgraduate courses are offered at the University of Sydney.

No living allowance is paid.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have completed a Bachelor's degree equivalent to Australian qualifications with an average minimum height difference based on the scoring system of Australia. Students who began graduate study, or students transferring from other graduate programs are not eligible.

Application Procedure
There is no separate application for scholarships is required. Application for Admission to the University of Sydney in 2012 will be an application for the scholarship. All applications that meet the selection criteria and eligibility will be automatically considered.

The deadline for receipt of applications and supporting documentation are complete (the results of academic and English language) is October 31, 2011 for Semester 1, 2012, and 30 April 2012 (Semester 2, 2012). Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.

Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on academic performance in strict compliance requirements for entering the university. Selection will be based on actual results (academic language skills and English). Results Predictions / estimates will not be considered.

Only applicants with a firm, offering unconditional entry will be considered.

Selection will be conducted by the University Scholarship Selection Committee, whose decision will be final. No appeal will be entertained.

Successful candidates will be informed in December 2011 (Semester 1, 2012) and June 2012 (Semester 2. 2012). Successful candidates will be informed to apply through UAC in January 2012.

Condition
Undergraduate scholarship recipients will need to maintain satisfactory academic progress, which, for the purpose of maintaining a scholarship, defined as maintaining an average credit (at least 65%) or more each year. Failure to do so can result in scholarship terminated.

Successful candidates:

not be in receipt of any other college scholarship;
should begin the study in 2012 - the start can not be deferred;
will be required to pay their own airfare to Sydney, living expenses, study materials, textbooks, any additional costs (if applicable) and the Overseas Student Health Cover each year;
also responsible for paying the balance of tuition fees each year;
required to enroll as full-time international students and international student status must maintain their full-time during their participation at the University of Sydney, and
may not be entitled to 'leave' for the duration of the scholarship, unless it is due to special circumstances.

University of Sydney reserves the right to make changes to the scholarship program without notice and at its discretion.
