The Weinstein International Fellowship Program, inaugurated in 2008, provides an opportunity for individuals from outside the United States to visit the United States to learn more about dispute resolution processes and practices and to pursue their own design projects that serve to advance the settlement of the dispute in their home country .
Congestion Foundation Scholarship Board of Directors will approve up to $ 25,000 in support of the project outlined by applicants Fellowship. The program is intended to be flexible and open to innovation, and applicants are encouraged to develop proposals that will improve the availability of education dispute resolution training, and services in their home countries and so on.
During their time in the U.S., perhaps Fellows based at the Center for Resolution stuck or can participate in the program linked to a university or other organization or institution, depending on the nature of their proposals. Scholarships may be from one month to one year in duration.
It is anticipated that Fellows will come from countries that do not have an established culture of using mediation for cases in litigation. Part of the Fellows' in the United States will spend observing how to manage and resolve bottlenecks case.
Criteria
Applicants must be fluent in English
The period of the fellowship must be one month to twelve months in duration
Preference for proposals that will help the applicant's home country to build a viable dispute resolution system or change how the dispute resolved
Preference for applicants who have experience as lawyers, law professors, court administrators, government officials, practitioners of ADR, or the judge

About the status of an entry visa to the U.S. for the purpose of Fellowship
Please note that under the rules of the U.S. State Department, the Foundation of congestion is not a 'Sponsor' approved in connection with the issuance of visas to foreign nationals. While congestion Foundation will make every effort to help facilitate the visa application Weinstein Fellows, Fellows are individually responsible for obtaining the necessary visas for the purpose and duration of their Fellowship.
Please also note that in accordance with the regulations of the United States Internal Revenue Service Fellowship funds will be taxed as income. This tax can be influenced by a number of factors, including country of origin of the recipient, whether a country that has a tax treaty with the United States, and the goals that Fellowship funds are used. Additional information regarding the income tax for foreign nationals is available at www.irs.gov.
Application for scholarships for 2012 will be reviewed by the Board of Directors of the Foundation's first congestion at their quarterly meeting on January 27, 2012. Applications must be received by December 2, 2011 in order to qualify for consideration. Foundation Board may also consider reviewing Fellowship applications accelerated in the right conditions.
