Independent Artist Scholarships, Musicians Institute, USA -Independent Artist scholarships are available to applicants (both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens) listed in the Artist Certificate program showed remarkable talent.
Requirements
To be considered for scholarships Independent Artist, you must submit a completed application including:
* An audio recording containing the songs that you submitted with your original application to the program plus at least two to five times (accepted formats: Audio CD, AIFF, WAV, mp3, AAC).
* A detailed list of credits for all songs submitted including those performed on every instrument, engineered, and produced.
* If you are the author of any lyrics that are performed or submitted with this application, including a sheet of lyrics for each song.
* A 1-2 page essay that explains the purpose of short-term and long term career. Include specific information about how you plan to meet your goals.
In addition to the above requirements, please send ONLY ONE of the following three items:
* A videotape that contains at least 2 original songs in a solo performance or in the regulation band / ensemble (accepted formats: DVD, Quicktime / mov, mpeg, VHS.).
* Complete multi-track audio recordings of two original (this may be the same song mentioned above) Formats accepted: Apple Logic, Pro Tools, Steinberg Cubase, Ableton Live, bounced off individual audio files).
* A videotape documenting less than 15 minutes of your writing / creative process (accepted formats: DVD, Quicktime / mov, mpeg, VHS.).
Application deadline: February 24, 2012
Available for international students and U.S. citizens *.
* Scholarship applicants must have filed an application for admission before the due date and the scholarship must be entering the program for the first time.
* It may be applied to the independent artist program (IAP) only.
* The number of total scholarships will be divided by the total number of places within a particular program and credited to the college every quarter in the same amount for students maintain 3.5 GPA.
* Scholarships are not transferable, and can not be applied to any person, program, or start date other than the one for which originally given.
* Award recipients will be notified within two weeks of application deadline
