PhD Student, Department of Biomedical Molecular Biology, Ghent University, Belgium
Our research group is working on cell-cell adhesion in health and disease, including evolutionary developmental biology (Evo-Devo). We are looking for a Ph.D. highly motivated students to conduct research on molecular evolution and the structure and functions of various members of the cadherin superfamily of key model organisms ranging from Placozoa and Cnidaria to mammals. The successful candidate will work in small teams and his / her research will involve various techniques: bioinformatics, recombinant DNA technology, gene and protein expression, knockdown of targeted genes, phenotypic analysis, and advanced microscopy. Part of the research will be conducted in a laboratory outside of Belgium.

* You work diligently and accurately, you have a sense of responsibility and eager to learn.
* You read and speak English fluently scientific and you have good communication skills.
* You are mobile and ready to perform long-term experiment in foreign countries.
