Eira Francis Davies Scholarship, Swansea University, UK
Female students ordinarily resident in a developing country that recognizes * to pursue undergraduate or graduate study Master's programs taught at Swansea University will be eligible to apply for a scholarship Francis Eira Davies.
The Eira Davies Francis Scholarship, which must be given from time to time by the Senate on academic ability and / or financial need and who will contribute to the cost of education, must be maintained for a period of time as determined by the Senate and shall be subject to satisfactory academic progress and other terms and conditions as the University setting.
It is a condition of award of scholarships Francis Eira Davies that the student agrees to return to his country to work or study after completing undergraduate studies at Swansea University.
Requirements:
Candidates must be new, full-time, degree seeking, non-EU applicants
Candidates must have completed an application to learn and accept the offer of a place at Swansea University
Candidates must demonstrate strong academic ability and financial need
Candidate does not have to qualify for financial assistance from Swansea University such as reduced tuition fees or scholarships through the collaborative link
Please note that students progress from ICWS not eligible to apply for International Scholarships
Terms and Conditions
Applicants must be from a designated list of countries non-EU to meet the requirements.
Swansea University employees will not be eligible to apply.
Scholarships will be used to offset the cost of education for a degree or course subject to satisfactory academic progress.
This scholarship is available to all undergraduate degree programs, taught Master's degree, including MBA, Full Legal Practice Course (taught entirely at Swansea University) and Graduate Diploma in Law. Research does not qualify (MRes, MPhil, PhD, EngD).
For undergraduate programs, applicants are expected to reach 3 A value in the A-Level or equivalent (excluding General Studies) and 5 A's or A * at GCSE level or equivalent. For Taught Postgraduate courses, applicants must have a First Class degree (or equivalent). In the case of all applicants, their English must meet the specified conditions of supply and UKBA requirements.
Applicants must register on the right course at Swansea University for the first time in September 2012.
Applicants must have completed an application where to study at Swansea University, and has received and accepted offers of places.
Applicants must be privately funded. This award can not be taken in conjunction with other scholarships or awards are made both internally and externally.
Applicants are not eligible to hold other awards Swansea University as a scholarship or sponsor country of origin.
Awards are available for full-time study only.
The closing date for receipt of completed scholarship application is May 1, 2012.
The successful applicant will be informed by 1 September 2012 and reduced tuition fees will be charged upon registration.
The award is not transferable.
International Scholarship Committee may use any means it deems most appropriate assessment to determine appropriate candidates for recommendation to the scholarship.
After receiving the award, scholarship recipients can not withdraw from a course save in exceptional circumstances and subject to the approval of the relevant College Headof. Not comply with these regulations may make students liable to pay back to the University every decision that has been made in whole or in part as determined by the International Scholarship Committee. If deemed necessary for scholarship holders to defer their studies, the scholarship will be held on account of the university and was executed in the resumption of the study and the candidate will be expected to pay for their personal contribution to a pro rata basis. If in view of the appropriate Head of College, the progress of scholarship holders are considered to be not satisfactory, the scholarship can be withdrawn. Scholarship also may be withdrawn on the grounds does not comply with any conditions attached to the Decision. Participants may be required to repay to the University any decision has been made, in whole or in part, as determined by the Committee. If scholars feel that the withdrawal is justified s / he may appeal in writing to the Head of International Development Office within 15 working days from the date of notification.
International Development's Office reserves the right to create, edit, draw, suspend or cancel without notice of this and other applicable regulations from time to time and such decision shall be final. We believe Scholarship comply with the requirements of current legislation and the right to make changes to ensure that it does.
Scholarship holder, after receiving the award, reasonably be expected to cooperate in the recruitment of Swansea University and automatically approve the name and details released by the Office of International Development and the Department of University Marketing for marketing purposes.
