General
Each academic year, 250 students admitted to grips Master program and 24 students for doctoral programs. For those who entered the grips in October, the school year for the Master's program operates from October to September.

For the Master program, the deadline to apply is set by each program to accommodate the scholarship selection process of the sponsor. Roughly speaking, the deadline to apply for this scholarship in early November. Screening will be announced the final results in late July at the latest.

Scholarship
Full scholarships are available for highly qualified candidates who have been accepted to study at the grips. This scholarship is awarded by the Japanese Government (MEXT), international organizations and grips. You can ask one of them when you submit an application for admission.

What is the scholarship covers

A monthly stipend is intended to cover living expenses such as food, clothing and other daily necessities, as well as insurers, and others related to your studies in the grips. This salary is fixed and can not be increased to cover family members. The number of allowances you may change slightly due to the economic situation in Japan.
Application, acceptance, and the cost of education
Round-trip economy class airfare between your home country and Japan.

We accept online applications for 2012 admission to the following programs:

One-year Master of Public Policy Program (MP1)
Two-year Master of Public Policy Program (MP2)
Macroeconomic Policy Program (one year and two years)
Public Finance Program
Doctoral Program
Program Policy Analysis

Please note that you will not be listed as' applicant until we have received all the supporting documents.

In case you do not have access to a computer Admissions Office will accept paper based application form. Please contact us and we will send you a paper based application form by post.

The deadline for 2012 entry:
The deadline for applications can be changed in a short time, through a directive from the Government of Japan (MEXT). This change is exclusively for MP1, PA, D. Ph applicants.

December 2, 2011: Policy Analysis Program, Doctoral Program and the Program * One-year Master of Public Policy (MP1) / * for scholarship applicants only. Note: Be sure to get ID & Password for online application with the Login Form no later than March 25, 2011.
January 13, 2012: * Two-year Master Program in Public Policy (MP2) / * for scholarship applicants only. Note: Be sure to get ID & Password for online application by submitting Form Get the latest January 6, 2012.
February 23, 2012: Public Finance Program. Note: Be sure to get ID & Password for online application by submitting Form Get the latest February 16, 2012.
May 14, 2012 **: MP1, MP2 and Macroeconomic Policy Program / ** for applicants supported by others and self-financed scholarships. Note: Be sure to get ID & Password for online application by submitting Form Log May 7, 2012 at the latest.

Note

Letters of recommendation must be submitted in sealed envelopes, signed on the seal. Recommendations must be written by someone who has supervised the applicant either in academic or work capacity. To program MP1, MP2, and Doctor, preferably, a letter must be written by a university professor and the other must be written by a senior member of the applicant's work now.
Certified copy means a certified true copy of the original document with an official seal obtained from the administrative office of the university attended. True copies of original documents certified by notaries are also acceptable. Evidenced by a copy of the organization / person who does not have a notary / legal functions will not be accepted or considered for screening.
All documents must be presented in English. Translation in English without an official seal obtained from the office to attend the university administration or without the signature of the recommender or the drawer of a document can not be accepted.
Faxed documents and digital copies sent through e-mail is not acceptable.
