Mona Hatoum Scholarship
Applications for September 2012 entry guidelines.

Scholarship has been established through a donation from a former Visiting Professor, Honorary Member and Byam Shaw alumnus Mona Hatoum. Scholarship is worth £ 15,000 and will be a contribution towards the cost of tuition for students accepted to the program full-time MA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.

Applications open for international students only who will benefit from graduate study to realize their full potential and are not able to finance themselves through their studies. Scholarships will be awarded according to financial need and academic ability

To be eligible for Mona Hatoum Scholarship, applicants must:

An international student and
Accepted for full-time Master's degree in Fine Art Central Saint Martins College, began in September 2012. AND
An undergraduate student expecting to graduate with a first or 2:1 in a Bachelor's degree (with 'Honors) from Higher Education institutions and HE institutions accredited further education prior to the date of July 31, 2012. OR
A graduate, having been a first or 2:1 degree from the Higher Education institutions and HE institutions accredited advanced education. OR (for applicants without a bachelor's degree)
Able to demonstrate equivalent experience and valid substantially.

Assessment procedures for the application
Your application will be initially assessed by the University of Arts London Student Funding Services Team based on financial information provided in your application and ranked according to financial need. Further evidence can be requested at a later date.

Short-listed applications as a result of the above process will then be forwarded to a selection panel in college that will make the final decision to ensure the academic potential of each application.

Assessment panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into for any decisions made.

Scholarship provisions Mona Hatoum
Applicants must enroll in MA in the same academic year that they have applied for funding. If the applicant was not able to do this for whatever reason, the scholarship will be withdrawn. The award will be divided in two payments of £ 7,500 to help towards the cost of education for a year one & two studies. Mona Hatoum scholarship holders will be expected to attend all timetabled classes and tutorials, except the period of absence due to illness. Attendance will be monitored, and every student with the presence of unacceptable levels of risk possible termination of their scholarship. Scholarship recipients are expected to attend a small number of events promoting the College and University scholarship support to potential donors, and met with supporters of scholarship in this event, as long as and wherever they are comfortable after completing the course.

The campus will end award if registration lapse for any reason, other than a temporary suspension of study because of special circumstances, which must be drawn to the attention of the director of the relevant courses in universities through formal procedures and enforced by the state colleges alleviate Panel.

Inform applicants of the final decision
All applicants will be notified of final decision in writing at the end of July 2012. Letters will be sent to the correspondence address on the application form. You must notify us in writing if your address changes, so we can contact you at the correct address.

It is anticipated that the number of applications received for this scholarship will far exceed availability, and many applicants will be successful. It is therefore very important that your application form completely and correctly completed.

In addition to the application form you will need to send the following additional materials:

A portfolio of work a minimum of 10 units (NB: we can only receive a CD ROM and / or DVD).
