Bachelor, Master and PhD Scholarships for International Students, Heinrich Böll Foundation, Germany - Scholarship for undergraduate, graduate, and PhD student
Heinrich Böll Foundation grants scholarships to about 1,000 students, graduates, and PhD students from all subjects and citizenship per year, which pursue their degree at a university, university of applied sciences ('Fachhochschulen'), or university art ('Kunsthochschulen "). We hope that our scholarship recipients to have a good academic record, socially and politically engaged, and has an active interest in the basic fundamental values: ecological sustainability and rights, democracy and human, self-determination and justice.
Next Deadlines
A) By 1 September 2011 (postmark) applications may be filed by:
1. German students and students who have received their university entrance qualifications of the German school ('Bildungsinländer_innen') and pursue a college degree their FIRST
* All subjects, university, university of applied sciences ("Fachhochschule"), or university art (Kunsthochschule)
* Degrees:, Diploma or Bachelor State Examination
• You can apply for scholarships before you begin your studies or in the first three semesters (at the time of application).
• We especially encourage first generation students, students with migrant backgrounds and students at the university of applied sciences ("Fachhochschulen").
2. German students and students who have received their university entrance qualifications of the German school ('Bildungsinländer_innen') and are studying the MINT subjects (mathematics, informatics, natural sciences or technical subjects), especially with a focus on the environment (eg climate studies, renewable energy etc. )
* All subjects; university or university of applied sciences ("Fachhochschule")
* Degree: Master (you must have obtained a university degree first)
• You can apply before you start the Master's program or in the first half (at the time of application).
3. Students from European Union (regional focus: Central and Eastern Europe)
* All subjects, university, university of applied sciences ("Fachhochschule"), or university art ('Kunsthochschule)
* Degree: Master (you must have obtained a university degree first)
• You can apply before you start the Master's program or in the first half (at the time of application).
• Proficiency in German is a necessity.
4. Doctoral students from Germany or the European Union (regional focus: Central and Eastern Europe)
* All subjects
• Applicants must provide proof that they have been accepted as a doctoral student by the German higher education institutions.
• Preference will be given to projects related to the field of dissertation work Heinrich Böll Foundation.
• Proficiency in German is a necessity.
B) By March 1, 2012 (postmark) applications may be filed by:
1. German students and students who have received their university entrance qualifications of the German school ('Bildungsinländer_innen') to pursue a university degree their FIRST
* All subjects, university, university of applied sciences ("Fachhochschule"), or university art ('Kunsthochschule')
* Degrees:, Diploma or Bachelor State Examination

* Degree: Master (you must have obtained a university degree first)
• You can apply before you start the Master's program or in the first half (at the time of application).
• basic knowledge of German language is a requirement (if scholarships are awarded, additional German courses can be financed).
5. Doctoral students who come from countries outside the EU who want to do their PhD studies in Germany (regional focus: Central and Eastern Europe, CIS, Middle East, the conflict regions around the world)
* All subjects
• Applicants must provide proof that they have been accepted as a doctoral student by the German higher education institutions.
• Preference will be given to projects related to the field of dissertation work Heinrich Böll Foundation.
• basic knowledge of German language is a requirement (if scholarships are awarded, additional German courses can be financed).
