University Doctoral Studentships, City University London, UK - City provides a number of fully funded, full-time, three-year Doctoral Scholarship for outstanding candidates as part of ongoing investment in academic achievement.

For entry in October 2012, we will offer up to 70 new Doctoral Scholarship.

Requirements
University Doctoral Scholarships are available for both UK / EU and overseas fee-paying students who will study full time. They can be held in every school of the University.

Applicants are judged on excellence of their research or proven potential and quality of their research proposals. If you wish to be considered for the University Student you should discuss your proposal with the relevant School, Department or Centre to determine whether you can be supported.

What's on offer
A Doctoral Student provides:

* Annual Scholarship (£ 15,500 in 2012/13 and is expected to rise in line with inflation in subsequent years);
* The abandonment of full tuition fees;
* One-time allowance of £ 1000 which can be used in a three-year fellowships to support research needs such as the presence of specialist training, equipment or conference.

Continuation of the award after the first year subject to confirmation by the relevant School of the satisfactory progress. Holders of scholarships are usually expected to perform some form of support teaching activities as part of a scholarship arrangement. This will be approved by the School concerned. Training will be provided to support teaching activities.

The university provides extensive research and business development programs to support the development of research skills.

* Arts, Health Sciences, Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, Informatics, Social Sciences and the Law: making an application for a research degree at City University in London in the usual manner. In the section 'Financial' in the application form, indicating that you wish to be considered for University Doctoral Studentship.
* Cass Business School: read the instructions and complete the online application form.

Application Deadline
The deadline for applications for PhD Studentship University is the day Friday, March 9, 2012.

Applicants will be informed of the outcome in April 2012.
