As a candidate for Postgraduate Program in Sustainability Science (GPSS), you can apply for the following scholarship programs (such as Japanese Government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), or "Monbukagakusho") Scholarship and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) - Japan Scholarship Program).

Terms
All applicants for GPSS must meet the requirements as follows:

* Must hold a degree from an accredited institution comparable to a bachelor's degree offered at the University of Tokyo, or are expected to earn the title on 30 September 2012,
* Must be residing outside the Japanese and Japanese to non-national,
* Must agree to enter the program by October 1, 2012 (in principle), when received and
* Must meet the qualifications best Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship for 2011 or ADB-Japan Scholarship Program.

Because the application
A set of completed applications must arrive at the International Liaison Office at the latest 22 December 2011.

Needs to visit Japan for inspection
This option basically consists of the review application documents. So, do not have to travel to Japan to take the test. However, you can be contacted by telephone, video conference system or Skype, if deemed necessary.

Application Documents

* Completed Application Form
* Official academic transcripts or certified photocopy of the previous educational institution to attend. If you have changed your university, including the transcript of former university or college as well. This must be in English. If original documents are not in English, you must submit a copy of the original certified English translation accompanied by a competent person or organization.
* Official or certified photocopy of degree certificate degree. This should be translated into English. (If you are a student currently registered, please include an official letter or certificate of approval is expected.)
* Two confidential letters of recommendation.
* TOEFL Score sheet
The following applicants are exempted from presenting TOEFL score sheet.
1) Those who graduated from college or graduate school located in a country where English is the native language.
2) Those who complete degree programs or masters programs offered in English. If you fall into this category, please include a certificate that indicates that English is the language of instruction in your program before attending.
3) Those who file a proof in any way that the applicant has the ability in English equivalent to those described in Item 1 or 2.
* Plan for Research and Supervisors are expected
Describe the themes and content of your research that you want to do in GPSS. In addition, select three supervisors are expected of faculty members in the GPSS list and a list of their names. If you can not find three supervisors are expected from the register of members of this program, you can include the two most of the prospectus the Environmental Studies Division. Statements and a list should be typed on A4 size paper. This is not to exceed three pages long. (Single spaced, and your name must appear on each page)
