PhD Scholarships, Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen, Denmark -Faculty of Law has a number of vacant PhD scholarship is available beginning September 2012.

All research projects in the discipline of Legal Studies considered. However, the faculty will give priority to applications in the research areas of the Faculty of nine research centers. More information on the nine research centers as well as more information about the titles of individual projects can be found at the website: http://jura.ku.dk/english/centres_service_units/

Applicants are allowed to propose topics of the project in other areas of Legal Studies offered by research centers. If you want to prepare and submit project topics, which are not offered please click on the "other Porjects" heading.

The purpose of the Faculty PhD program is both to prepare students to pursue careers in legal research and teaching and to educate highly qualified workforce that is relevant to both public and private sectors. Qualification levels to ensure research at the international level.

Qualification

Applicants must have an educational background in accordance with Danish-LL.M degree or equivalent qualifications.
Students who expect to graduate this term and is awaiting the evaluation of their dissertation may apply.
Applicants must document the extent possible aptitude for scientific work, for example through higher assessments of their dissertation and should also be able to perform a very demanding task independently write a PhD dissertation.

During the 3-year PhD program you are required to

Participate in a research environment outside the Faculty of Law - usually through a period of study abroad. Take part in international conferences, courses and meetings.
Complete the Program Faculty PhD studies - including some traveling to international conferences, courses, and meetings should be expected.
Teach - usually an undergraduate or master's program.
Conduct independent research (making PHD thesis) under supervision.

Application Procedure
To apply, click on the center you are interested in (or click on the heading "Other Projects" if you want to apply for this) and you are right on the application form you must fill in. Be prepared and have under-ready to upload before you send the document indicated:

An application must specify the reasons motivated scientific support to receive a special research program at the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen
A Curriculum Vitae
Diplomas and transcripts of your degree qualification mark (translated into English, Danish, Swedish or Norwegian)
A description of the research proposal (5 to max 10 pages)
Time tables

If you have prepared your own personal project you are still welcome to apply, but must use the specified link for "Other Projects".

All interested parties, regardless of personal background, are encouraged to apply. Foreign applicants must be able to present and document qualification equivalent to a Master's degree prior to enrollment Denmark. Applicants are supported by external auditors must be able to document.

Job requirements
The work will take place in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations and the Ministry of Finance regarding PhD student salary. Furthermore, there will be a personal pension bonus in accordance with the difference between the increase in seniority accepted as a principal in accordance with the new wage system for the academia on the basis of the contract and pay a group of PhD students. Usually, the scholarship can not be extended.

Faculty of Law is one of eight faculties at the University of Copenhagen. Faculty conducts research, education and dissemination of knowledge in the field of law.
