China Government Scholarship for Master & PhD, Nanjing University

Chinese Government Scholarship is a scholarship established by the Chinese government to facilitate students and scholars from around the world to conduct studies and research in Chinese universities. This scholarship aims to promote mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese people and people from all over the world and to develop communication and cooperation between China and around the world in the fields of Education, Culture Technology, and Economics.

From the year 2008 under the approval of the Ministry of Education of China, Nanjing University will begin offering Chinese Government Scholarship for master students or PhD in circulation. Nanjing University is one of the top universities in China under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Education of China. Nanjing University was founded in 1902 and is known for strong academic portfolio and outstanding faculty.

Nanjing University Nanjing is located in the heart of history. It is surrounded by beautiful scenery, excellent environment and accessible transport. University is currently host to 23 schools and 65 departments offering 162 majors for a master's degree and 93 PhD degrees. A master's degree within 3 years while a PhD takes 3 to 4 years. Nanjing University uses a credit system, to obtain the number of credits for the degree and successfully pass an oral defense of Paper Graduation for students to graduate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Academic Background: Applicants must have completed a four-year bachelor's degree to a master's degree and a master's degree or equivalent pursuers for a PhD degree pursuers.
Chinese Language: Applicant must be willing to learn Chinese, if applicable, and receive education in Chinese.
Health: Applicants must be mentally and physically healthy.

Students currently studying in China do not apply. Students who have been given to other Chinese scholarship or funding (2012-2013) does not apply.

TERM SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarships will be retained for three years and four years from the date of award for master's and PhD degrees, respectively. One-year preparatory education in Chinese before the research grant 'from the major benefits will be provided with a full scholarship if deemed necessary.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Allowance: Grantee will be given a monthly salary of RMB 1700 and RMB 2,000 for master's level students and PhD students degrees, respectively.
School Fees: Fees for matriculation and tuition will be paid by the Chinese government.
Health Insurance: A health insurance will be provided to the recipient with CSC for the entire duration of his / her scholarship.
Accommodation: A free accommodation will be provided to the recipient at the University International Dormitory for the entire duration of the scholarship.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Applicants should log on on-line application system to perform on-line registration and application (laihua.csc.edu.cn). After completing the application form on-line (facility code for the Nanjing University is 10 284), applicants must click "submit" button and print the application from the application system. After a complete on-line application, applicants must submit the following documents to the Scholarship Coordinator (address below) by the date requested. Documents submitted will not be returned.

Two letters of recommendation from advisor / professor from last school attended
Medical certificate
Print "Code Scholarships for International Students of Nanjing University" with the applicant's signature.

The documents above must be written in English. Any document written in another language must be attached with translations in English or Chinese.

Applications accepted from October 15, 2011 to December 15, 2011. Notification of successful applicants will be posted on the official website of the Institute for International Students of Nanjing University in March 2012. The school year starts from 1 September 2012.
