Erasmus Mundus Scholarship in International Performance Research (MAIPR)

Summary
Erasmus Mundus MA in International Performance Research (MAIPR) is a 16-month program aimed at students with a particular interest and / or a background in performing arts, because those who may wish to pursue a career in or add value to existing skills in practical aspects of art or pursuit academic careers through further study, possibly leading to a Ph.D.

The ideal candidate has a strong academic background and experience with creative practices in the theater and / or performance. You may be in your final year of a bachelor's degree or have worked in a profession related to the performance or area. Intake MAIPR now truly international, consisting of students from all continents (except Antarctica!) We have students who have been entered directly after completing their undergraduate degree in performance and other related disciplines who have worked as a director, choreographer, curator, dancer and the actor. You must remember, however, MAIPR which is not a practical training program. What it will do is help you develop and enhance your theoretical knowledge about performance-related issues, and will certainly add value to existing basic skills.

Funded by the European Commission, MAIPR from autumn 2011 will be offered by four internationally renowned academic institutions: University of Warwick in England, Universiteit van Amsterdam (University of Amsterdam) in Holland, while Univerzitet Umetnosti u Beogradu (University of Arts Belgrade) in Serbia, and Yliopisto Helsingin (University of Helsinki) in Finland.

Scholarship
Category A scholarships (€ 34,000) aims to cover all program costs, therefore the cost, travel and living expenses for 16 months. For 2012-13, we will be giving a scholarship the following amounts:

7 scholarships to qualified third-country applicants (because it's their nationality and place of residence is outside the EU / EEA / EFTA).
Three additional scholarships may be available to applicants from the following three areas: the Western Balkans and Turkey (1 scholarship); Tunisia and Egypt (1 scholarship); Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, or Ukraine (1 scholarship). MAIPR Consortium, however, not yet in a position to confirm if we get this scholarship, further advice will be uploaded in due course.

Applicants must have lived, studied and / or work for a period of LESS THAN 12-month cumulative within the EU / EEA / EFTA on January 31, 2012. After € 12 000 Cost of the program has been cut from EM scholarship, you will receive € 24 000. This amount is composed as follows:

€ 8,000 travel allowance and installation
€ 16 000 monthly salary

Above will usually be paid in 16 monthly installments of € x 1500. The first payment will be made soon after arriving at your home university.

Category B scholarships (€ 17,000) is considered as a financial contribution instead of a full scholarship. For 2012-13 we will be giving the following scholarships: 5 scholarships for eligible EU / EEA / EFTA applicants, as well as third-country applicants who have lived, studied and / or work for MORE THAN cumulative period of 12 months in the EU / EEA / EFTA area on January 31, 2012. Once costs have been deducted from the scholarship program EM, a European Union student will receive a living allowance of € 8,000 for € 3,000 travel allowance and installation. This will be paid at the level of € 687.50.

EM scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. It is therefore important that you MAIPR application as strong as possible as the competition for scholarships is very strong. You should also keep in mind that you may be accepted into the program MAIPR but not awarded a scholarship. Remember: if your application for 2012-13 MAIPR received after the deadline of 3-January 2012 or incomplete on that date, unfortunately we can not put you into the EM scholarship competition.

Requirements
Students with special interest and / or a background in performing arts, because those who may wish to pursue a career in or add value to existing skills in practical aspects of art, or pursuing academic careers through further study, possibly leading to a Ph. D. You need to show that you have is good enough to learn English. This is usually done by taking one of the University of Warwick `s language test accepted, as follows: IELTS (British Council International Testing System) Passing score of at least 7; or TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Passing score of at least 620 (based paper) or 260 (computer based) or 105 (internet-based iBT)

How to apply?
The best way is to apply online through the University of Warwick, coordinating agency for the Consortium. Please click on the following link on-line application form (you must register in advance) to access the online portal. To register your application and get access to a form, you must enter a valid email and password that is easy to remember. Make sure that you choose the correct course code: P-W4PA.

If you are unable to apply on-line, you can send in paper applications. You need to request an application form from the University of Warwick's Student Recruitment department, through student.recruitment @ warwick.ac.uk. If you choose this option, it is your responsibility to ensure that the registration form and all required support documents will be sent to the Graduate Admission enough time to arrive by the deadline MAIPR relevant. You need to back up your application with supporting documents. The best way to supply this quickly is to use the facility to upload supporting documents.
