PhD Position at Leibniz Center for Tropical Marine Ecology, Bremen, Germany - He Leibniz Center for Tropical Marine Ecology in Bremen GmbH trying, at the earliest possible date, to fill the position of Research Assistant (50%) for three years. Appointed will be expected to work towards the completion of a Ph.D.
Employment terms and conditions are governed by the provisions of the German TV-L, EG 13 for part-time position. Salary according to salary grade 13; working week is 50% of full-time load (currently 19.6 hours).
We are looking for someone with the right qualifications in anthropology for a year doing fieldwork in the Pacific in an interdisciplinary research project on perceptions of environmental change in the context of the debate about global warming.
Field research will be conducted in collaboration with geologists / sedimentologist, it will be overseen by a newly appointed Professor of Leibniz in the ZMT, Prof. Dr. Bettina Beer (University of Lucerne).
Applicants must have completed a university degree (Masters) in anthropology with a little science. Another prerequisite is familiarity with anthropological field methods, knowledge and special interests in Pacific Anthropology both psychological / cognitive or anthropology of human-environment relationships. In addition to a commitment to teamwork and an interest in interdisciplinary research applicants must have good English skills. Appointed will be working with an international team of enthusiastic scientists, offers a collegial work patterns, cooperative spirit and the opportunity to pursue new ideas.
