The Swedish Institute Study Scholarships, Sweden - Swedish Institute for Studies Scholarship target high-quality students from countries listed below. About 120 scholarships will be awarded for studies in Sweden, started in August 2012. Scholarships cover both living expenses and tuition fees.

Please note that to apply for a Swedish Institute scholarship student study must first be admitted to the university colleges / universities of Sweden. Application period for courses opens December 1, 2011.

Scholarship application period for the Swedish Institute will study 14 to 25 March, 2012.

State
The program is open to candidates from two different categories of countries.

Category 1:
Candidates with the nationality of the following countries: Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

In this category some 60 scholarships will be awarded.

Category 2:
Candidates with the nationality of the countries on the DAC list of ODA recipients, with the exception of the following: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.

Citizens of Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine can apply in Visby Program.

Citizens of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo and Serbia can apply the SI Scholarship Program for Eastern Europe.

Residents of Turkey can apply in the Swedish-Turkish Scholarship Program.

In this category some 60 scholarships will be awarded.

Level
Scholarships are intended for studies in Sweden began fall semester 2012 (August) and focus primarily on the master's level. A few scholarships will be awarded for study at undergraduate level.

Who is eligible?
The scholarships are intended for students from the target groups mentioned above for full-time study in Sweden. There is no age limit for recipients.
Scholarships can not be given to students who:

Has lived in Sweden for two years or more prior to the period of scholarship.
Have a Swedish permanent residence or work permits.
Previously been awarded a scholarship to study at the Swedish Institute of Masters level or for study at a Swedish university.
Already holds a Master's degree from a university college / university Sweden.
Is currently enrolled in the study program Bachelor or Master degree in Swedish university or university college.

How to apply for scholarships
Before applying for a scholarship, students must register for courses at Masters level or degree through www.universityadmissions.se, online application services for courses in Sweden.

About 600 different courses in Swedish universities are eligible for scholarships. The programs have been selected by Swedish universities and covers various subject areas.

Once the results of the Swedish university admission has been published in www.universityadmissions.se, an online service for the Swedish Institute for Studies Scholarship will open. Please note that only admitted students can apply for scholarships. Scholarship application period will be March 14 to 25, 2012. A list of successful candidates will be published in www.studyinsweden.se and www.si.se in mid-April.

Before applying for scholarships:
1. Apply for university courses in Sweden by using the online application service at www.universityadmissions.se. Application period lasts between December 1, 2011 and January 16, 2012. Please note that the number of personal applications taken on confirmation of course registration should be used when applying for scholarships.

2. Prepare the cage (required)

Curriculum Vitae (CV) of one page maximum. Additional pages will not be considered.
Motivation letter. Must be solved using the Swedish Institute template found here (available soon!).

Apply via the online application services
Apply for a scholarship through our online services here (available March 14 to March 25, 2012) using the number of personal applications taken following confirmation of course registration. Do not forget to send your attachments.

Only complete applications from students who have been accepted into the program of study by a Swedish university will be considered.

What happens next with my application for a scholarship?

Swedish Institute will evaluate your application between March 26 and April 15, 2012.
SI will announce the list of successful candidates scholarships www.studyinsweden.se around April 16, 2012.
Each successful candidate will receive an official scholarship offer by e-mail and asked to accept or reject this offer.
Please note that you also have to accept your place on a course in www.universityadmissions.se.

Scholarship benefits and period
Scholarships cover both tuition (paid directly to the university / university college by the Swedish Institute of Sweden) and living expenses for the amount of SEK 8,000 per month.

Scholarships are only given for courses starting in fall semester 2012 (August) and awarded for one academic year, ie for two semesters at a time. This will be extended to the program over two semesters with the provision that the research results are satisfactory.

Scholarships are designed to cover living expenses and tuition fees for scholarship recipients. There is no help for family members. Scholarships given period can not be modified or extended beyond the period of study or program can be transferred into the scholarship program of study at Swedish universities.

Travel grants
Scholarship holders will receive a travel grant in connection with the scholarship. Travel grant is a one time payment of SEK 10,000.

Insurance
Scholarship holders are insured by the Swedish State Group Insurance against illness and accident during the scholarship period.
