Panasonic Scholarship for Indonesian Students, Japan
panasonic Corporation (hereinafter "Panasonic") was founded in 1918 when Konosuke Matsushita, founder, started a small workshop to make an improved attachment plug. Today, Panasonic Group is electrical and electronics manufacturers the most comprehensive in the world. Throughout the history of the company, we at Panasonic believe that our mission as a manufacturer is to devote ourselves to the progress and development of society and the welfare of the people, thus contributing to the growth of human civilization. Traditionally, Panasonic has a strong belief that the development of human resources is of utmost importance that the management has to deal with.
Panasonic Scholarship Program was established in 1998 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the company as a way for companies to express our appreciation to the community. The goal is to provide scholarship opportunities to privately financed students from Asian countries who wish to pursue a master degree in Japan, to offer financial assistance to foster highly educated experts who can contribute to the development of their country in the 21st century, and to promote mutual friendship between their home countries and Japan.
Requirements
A privately financed student from Indonesia, who want to continue master program in Japan, must meet the following requirements:
Country:
Applicants must be citizens of Indonesia
Educational background, etc.:
Applicants must be university graduates or pending graduates and has a distinguished academic record and must have completed 16 years of school education or have been accepted as eligible for enrollment in graduate schools are targeted. However, applicants must have completed their undergraduate degree no more than 4 years before the date of their arrival in Japan. (With less than 26 years of age in March 2013).
Specialization:
Applicants must major in one of the disciplines of science and technology. (Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Bio-technology, Agriculture, and IT (Information Technology)
Note: This does not include medical science, pharmacology and dentistry
Japanese Language Proficiency:
Applicants must have sufficient skills and knowledge in the Japanese language not only to study at master level, but also to understand the Japanese culture.
Health conditions:
Applicants should be healthy and fit and be highly motivated to study in Japan.
Other:
Applicants should be interested and have the desire to contribute to the development of Indonesia and to promote friendship between Indonesia and Japan. .
O Applicants must obtain a study visa and arrive in Japan in late March 2013 to attend the awards ceremony to be held at the headquarters of Panasonic in early April 2013.
Applicants who receive or will receive other scholarships including Japanese Government Scholarships are not eligible for Panasonic.
Applicants who are already enrolled in graduate school in Japan at the time of application are not eligible for the Panasonic Scholarship.
The number of students who will be accepted
Of all applicants, in the early stage (stage I) it will be just over 100 candidates entered the next stage. In phase II, there will be only the 12 best candidates as finalists. In the final stage, through the interview process, discussion groups and others, 3 the most qualified finalists will be selected to be Panasonic Scholarship Nominees.
Duration of Panasonic Scholarship
Panasonic Scholarship will be awarded for three years from April 2011 until March 2014 that includes
One Year - Registration as a research student at the university in Japan and Japanese language Japanese language training institute.
Year Two & Three - Registration and complete the master's course in Japan. Entire period of not more than three years under any circumstances.
Entire period of not more than three years under any circumstances. Scholarship will be terminated if the grantee fails to gain entry master's program in Japan within one year after arrival in Japan (end of March, 2011).
Content of Panasonic Scholarship
Assistance Prior to Arrival in Japan
Includes Registration Fee and Entrance Fee Assistance for student research and Air Ticket to Japan will give before leaving for Japan (details will be passed on to students nominated by the PSO and Indonesia)
Scholarship After Arrival in Japan
The scholarship will be awarded after arriving in Japan are described below. Limited 3-year duration of the scholarship in accordance with the standards of education period as follows: a maximum of 1 year for research students and two years for master's programs in graduate school. However, the duration of this scholarship is to be shortened in cases where the appropriate course of study the student is less than the standard of education. * Panasonic highly recommend the Panasonic Scholarship students (including students nominated) became a research student for the year 1 (one) in order for them to improve the ability of Japan to contact with Japanese culture and to set the basic direction of future research themes.
Graduate Student Research
Basic Scholarship: ¥ 150,000 per month
Tuition Assistance: Number of Actual (maximum ¥ 200,000 to be paid every year and a half)
Teachers Course Graduate School
In cases where students can take courses master within one year after arriving in Japan, scholarship payable is as below.
Basic Scholarship: ¥ 180,000 per month
Entrance Fee Assistance: Number of Actual (a maximum of ¥ 250,000 to be paid)
Tuition Assistance: Number of Actual (a maximum of ¥ 250,000 to be paid per each half-year)

Application Procedure
Indonesia Panasonic Office will select Panasonic Scholarship candidates in three stages, as follows:
PHASE I.
All candidates must apply through (and only) electronic applications. The first election will find the overall record of applicants including: biographical information, academic records (GPA), language skills, and readiness to sign the master's program in Japan. Submission of e-applications will be closed on March 17, 2012. In Phase I, 100 (hundred) applicants will be selected as semi-finalists and their names will be announced March 22, 2012. via e-mail and website.
PHASE II.
Semifinalists will be notified and will receive an official application form through the login and download from the website Indonesia Panasonic Scholarship (user and password will deliver only 100 (hundred) semi-finalists then.
The form will require detailed biographical data, academic report (transcript), an essay of master research proposal, personal recommendations, and the acceptance of Professor. Semi-finalists must submit an official application form (numbers 1 through 5) as mentioned below by mail with a deadline on April 30, 2012.Documents to be delivered in Phase II:
Application form (form # 1 is determined)
Letter of recommendation from the dean of the university the applicants graduated from (2 prescribed form)
Study and research plan in Japan (the prescribed form No. 3)
Original university transcript (or legalized), without legalized photocopy is not acceptable.
Certified copy of the applicant's degree
The committee will select the 12 (twelve) finalists based on the examination of documents, and mini-thesis or research proposal evaluation.
PHASE III.
On June 11 to 12, 2012 [tentative] all the finalists will be invited to attend the Final Selection Phase. The Committee consists of Panasonic Gobel Group Company's management, distinguished university professor, Panasonic Scholarship Inc. Japan, and Training & Recruitment Consultant will interview and evaluate each finalist. 3 (three) most qualified finalists will be selected to be Panasonic Scholarship Nominees.
Requirements for the Panasonic Scholarship Students (Nominated)
A. Enrollment in the Graduate School and Research Lama
Panasonic looking for students with a passion for learning in graduate school for 3 (three) years. In the concrete, they are looking for Panasonic;
informal approval of academic advisor and complete an application for registration as a research student in 2012,
enroll in graduate school as a research student in the month of April 2013,
then enroll in a master in April 2014 and
completed his mater in March 2016.
2. Japanese Language Proficiency Test
Panasonic Scholarship students (including the nominated students) are required to obtain N4 level or above for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) conducted in Indonesia in early December 2012. In line with this, Panasonic recommends a student who has never learned Japanese to begin preparation for learning the Japanese language prior to attending the final interview.
In addition, it is said that students enrolled in master's courses must achieve a certain level of N1 for the JLPT that they had learned in graduate school and research.

A. Procedures Before / After Arrival in Japan
1) Acquisition of Passport
Panasonic Scholarship students (including students nominated) shall be responsible to compile all necessary documents, follow the necessary procedures and prepare to get a passport and bear related costs.
2) Acquisition of Student Visa
Panasonic Scholarship students (including students nominated) shall be responsible to compile all necessary documents, follow the necessary procedures and prepare to get a student visa and bear the cost associated.
3) Obtaining approval from the Graduate School Admission
Panasonic Scholarship students (including students nominated) shall be responsible to compile all the documents required to follow the necessary procedures and prepare to enroll as a student research such as the approval of the graduate school entrance.
4) Reservations Accommodations
Panasonic Scholarship students (including students nominated) shall be responsible to compile all necessary documents, follow the necessary procedures and prepare to book an accommodation and bear related costs.
5) Application for Alien Registration
Panasonic Scholarship students (including students nominated) shall be responsible to compile all necessary documents, follow the necessary procedures and prepare to apply for alien registration and bear the cost associated.
6) Health Insurance Subscribe
Panasonic Scholarship students (including students nominated) shall be responsible to compile all necessary documents, follow the necessary procedures and preparations for a subscription to the National Health Insurance and bear the cost associated.
Panasonic Scholarship students (including students nominated) are advised to refer to the Student Guide to Japan, published by the Organization of Students in Japan all the initial costs that occurred after arrival in Japan.
The first scholarship payment will be made in April 2013 after the award ceremony.
2. Panasonic Scholarship students (including the nominated students) were asked to observe the Panasonic Scholarship Rules and follow the instructions given by the Panasonic Scholarship Office of Japan / Indonesia and to submit the necessary documents such as monthly reports, progress reports Japanese, Informal Notice of Approval issued by the professor of your target Acceptance and Notification etc. without delay.
3. Panasonic reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate the scholarship if the students find scholarships Panasonic Panasonic (including the nominated students) violating the terms scholarship.
Panasonic is also entitled to claim a full refund or a partial amount of the cost of scholarships, entrance fees and tuition assistance previously-awarded when a serious violation of the principles and objectives of Panasonic Scholarship found.
